Sir Arthur Conan Doyle was born on 22 May 1859 in Edinburgh, Scotland. He is best-known for his creation of the famous sleuth Sherlock Holmes and his loyal friend and companion Dr Watson. Doyle was also a spiritualist and a physician. Apart from writing sixty stories featuring Holmes, he has also written novels, historical fiction and about spiritualism. He passed away on 7 July 1930.
