When the veil between the living and the dead grows thin...

Step into a world where everyday logic surrenders to forces unseen. In this gripping collection of supernatural stories, Saradindu Bandopadhyay—best known as the creator of the iconic sleuth Byomkesh Bakshi—turns his gaze to the strange, the spectral, and the sublime.

Here, haunted mansions echo with invisible footsteps, ghosts fall in love, and even a humble bumblebee can carry the weight of death. A man gives up his worldly life to commune with spirits; another is pursued by guilt—or something far darker. In ‘Sati’, ancient beliefs shape a tale of purity and vengeance, while a spirit with a sense of humour plays matchmaker from the other side.

Inside this book, you’ll find

👻Haunted Lives and Hidden Truths: Stories where guilt, longing, and memory blur the line between the living and the dead.

🌕The Supernatural Meets the Psychological: Tales that fuse eerie atmosphere with deep insight into the human condition.

🕯️A Literary Legacy Reimagined: Discover another side of Saradindu’s storytelling genius, beyond Byomkesh Bakshi

💫Ghosts with Heart and Humour: Not all spirits are vengeful—some are romantic, others mischievous, all unforgettable.

📜A Masterful Translation: Monimala Dhar captures the elegance, rhythm, and mystery of the original Bengali with remarkable grace.
