Leadership is timeless—but the principles that shape great leaders are often overlooked in the challenges of the present. In Rules to Rule, Prashant Anand—an Indian Police Service officer, with extensive experience in national security, counter-insurgency and strategic operations—offers a rare perspective on power, discipline and decision-making grounded in real-world leadership.

Drawing from the lives of 19 ancient Indian rulers, Anand recounts their stories with clarity and precision, highlighting the values and strategies that defined their reigns. Without embellishment or reinterpretation, he distils the moral lessons that remain relevant today—for anyone navigating the complexities of leadership in politics, business or public life.

Prashant Anand is an Indian Police Service officer with extensive experience in national security, counterinsurgency and strategic operations. Throughout his distinguished career, he has held key leadership positions across Jharkhand and other high-impact regions. He has also served with the National Investigation Agency, where he investigated terrorism-related cases and threats to internal security.

A recipient of both the Union Home Minister’s Medal for Excellence in Investigation and the Police Antrik Suraksha Seva Padak, Anand brings a disciplined, systems-oriented approach to leadership. In Rules to Rule, his debut book, he distils timeless lessons from ancient Indian rulers into a practical guide for modern leaders.
