AUTHOR OF THE BOOK

Kavita Kané is a former journalist and a bestselling author of seven books. She is considered a
revolutionary force in Indian writing because she has brought in feminism where it is most needed—
mythology. Her seven novels are all based on women in Indian mythology.
Her journey began as a journalist, with twin post-graduation degrees in English literature as well
as mass communication and journalism from the University of Pune. With a career spanning over
two decades, working with Magna Publishing and DNA, she eventually quit her job as an assistant
editor at the Times of India to devote herself to writing full-time. Passionate about theatre, cinema
and the arts, she is also a columnist, screenplay writer and a motivational speaker.
She currently lives in Pune with her husband, two daughters, two dogs and an uncurious cat.
