ABOUT THIS BOOK

It is time to listen to the voices of people not like us.

Towards a more just, more sustainable, and more democratic world.

Rebuilding Democracy in the 21st Century is a derivative of Arun Maira’s book, ‘Listening for Well-Being: Conversations with People Not Like Us’ published in 2017. In that book, Maira had examined the nature of democracy, and the quality of deliberations that are necessary for inclusive and effective democracies. He had analyzed the impact on democracy of social media, competitive electoral politics, and the conversion of media into a business. This new book contains three chapters in which he has outlined the way forward to rebuild the foundations of democracies
