AUTHOR OF THE BOOK
Sir Arthur Conan Doyle was born in 1859 and was the creator of arguably the greatest and the most recognizable fictional detective character in history, Sherlock Holmes. He has also popularized another fictional character by the name Professor Challenger and wrote extensively on the mystery of Mary Celeste. He was a prolific writer who wrote many fictional and nonfictional accounts along with plays, romances and poetry. He was a physician by profession. He famously killed Sherlock Holmes on the Reichenbach Falls in a story and after a huge public outcry, was forced to bring him back. Holmes eventually featured in 56 short stories and four novels.
