Dr Shailendra Srivastava, IPS (1986), is an alumnus of Banaras Hindu University with an MSc in

Botany and PhD in Forest Ecology. During his service, he did an MCA and recently attained an

MA in Astrology and completed his LLB.

Having served the Government of Madhya Pradesh for over 34 years, he retired from the post of

Director General/Chairman of MP Police Housing and Infrastructure Development Corporation.

Throughout his illustrious career, he has held various pivotal roles, including Superintendent of

Police in numerous districts, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Inspector General of Police across

various zones, Additional Director General and Director General. He is the recipient of numerous

prestigious national and international medals and awards.

Dr Srivastava possesses a diverse perspective on law enforcement, forest and wildlife management,

sports, youth welfare, education and contemporary issues. He has to his credit numerous research

papers published in international journals and contributions to leading newspapers and magazines.

Prior to joining the IPS, he served in the Indian Forest Service.
