Rajiv Dogra

Former diplomat Rajiv Dogra is an author, a television commentator and an artist. A career foreign service officer, he was India’s Ambassador to Italy. In Rome, he was also the Permanent Representative to the United Nations agencies based there. Prior to that, he served as Ambassador to Romania, Moldova and Albania, and was the last Indian Consul General in Karachi, Pakistan. 

 He received an honorary doctorate from the University of Oradea in Romania and is an honorary professor at the University of Targoviste. An active public speaker, he is one of India’s foremost commentators on foreign policy and strategic issues and is noted for his considered and assertive views. He is the bestselling author of eight books including Where Borders Bleed, Durand’s Curse, India’s World, Wartime and Autocrats. Durand’s Curse received the VoW award for ‘best book’ in the non-fiction category. Autocrats was shortlisted at the Delhi Literature Festival and won the PVLF award for excellence in non-fiction.
