Mary Shelley
Mary Shelley was born on 30 August 1797 in London. She married poet Percy Bysshe Shelley in 1816. Frankenstein was published in 1818 and it immediately became a bestseller. The work continues to remain a benchmark in the horror genre. Valperga (1823), The Last Man (1826), and Lodore (1835) are some of her other works.
