Manish Tewari
Manish Tewari is a lawyer, three-term Member of Parliament, and former Union Minister of Information & Broadcasting in the Government of India. He represented the Ludhiana Parliamentary Constituency in the 15th Lok Sabha from 2009 to 2014, and the Sri Anandpur Sahib Parliamentary Constituency from 2019 to 2024 in the 17th Lok Sabha. He now represents the Chandigarh Parliamentary Constituency in the 18th Lok Sabha. A seasoned parliamentarian, he has been an articulate and effective voice in India’s legislative and policy landscape and on national security issues and international affairs. He has held key roles on several Cabinet Committees. He has served on numerous Parliamentary Committees, including Finance, Defence and External Affairs, and played a pivotal role in shaping India's data-protection legislation. He has also served as a distinguished Senior Fellow in the South Asia Center at the Washington, D.C., based Atlantic Council. As an active legal practitioner in the Supreme Court and various High Courts, Tewari brings a rare confluence of legal insight and political experience. He is the author of four critically acclaimed books, including the national security bestseller 10 Flashpoints; 20 Years: National Security Situations That Impacted India. A prolific columnist, his writing spans a diverse array of domains from international relations and strategic affairs to cyberspace and AI, reflecting his deep engagement with India’s evolving role on the global stage.
