Geoffrey Chaucer
Geoffrey Chaucer, born around 1342–43 in England, is the most outstanding English poet predating Shakespeare and dubbed the first discoverer of the English language. The Canterbury Tales is his greatest work and regarded as one of the greatest works of English poetry.
