Professionally rooted in journalism and driven by a deep passion for understanding crime, Chitradeep Chakraborty has spent years exploring the anatomy of criminal acts and the minds behind them. With over three decades of experience across television and print media, Chitradeep Chakraborty remains deeply drawn to the world of crime and criminals, which continues to top his list of interests.
He began his journey in Siliguri, North Bengal, with Danpath, and went on to work with several leading media organizations, including Aajkaal, Khaas Khabar, The Statesman, Star Ananda, and 24 Ghanta. He is currently the Senior Assistant Editor at the Bengali Daily Ei Samay.
Over the years, he has reported from the ground on many of India’s most significant incidents, including the terror attack at the Taj Hotel in Mumbai, Maoist violence in Chhattisgarh, and major bomb blasts in Hyderabad and Delhi. His career has been defined by on-the-spot reporting, sharp investigative insight, and an unwavering commitment to uncovering the truth. As part of an Indian media delegation, he has also visited China.
His contribution to investigative journalism has earned him several prestigious honours, including the Amar Basu Memorial Award, Indywood Excellence Award, and the Felu Mittir Award, along with the Renaissance Sahitya Samman. He has also been recognized as a ‘Cyber Warrior’ by Rotary and Lions Club for his work in cyber-crime awareness.
His crime story, Kankal Ki Kotha Bole? gained wide recognition after being adapted into an audio story on Radio Mirchi, winning the Radio Summit Award 2024.
During the COVID-19 Period, he completed 151 online courses on cybersecurity within a month, earning a place in the International Book of Records.
In addition to his journalistic work, Chitradeep is actively involved in education, regularly delivering lectures and sessions on cyber-crime at various schools and universities, sharing his knowledge and experience with the next generation.
