AUTHOR OF THE BOOK

Lucy Maud Montgomery, born 30 November 1874, was a Canadian author renowned for her
collection of novels, essays, short stories and poetry. She is mostly known for her bestselling novel Anne of Green Gables, published in 1908. Her work, diaries and letters have been read and analysed by scholars and readers all over the world. Her other notable works include Rilla of Ingleside (1921) and Emily of New Moon (1923). Montgomery was honoured by King George V as an officer of the Order of the British Empire in 1935. She met her demise on 24 April 1942 in Toronto.
