ABOUT THIS BOOK

The Hanuman Heart is an attempt to bring the ‘Hanuman Charit’ or Hanuman’s character closer to the young readers in English. Fifteen stories illustrate the life of Sri Anjaneya, from his birth to his old age as a meditative yogi. Throughout, the book attempts to present a lively, inspiring and uplifting picture of Lord Hanuman to children.

AUTHOR OF THE BOOK

Born in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, Scharda Bail grew up in Mumbai, graduating from St. Xavier's College in 1980. In 1974 she won the First Prize in the Royal Commonwealth Essay Competition for children. She has lectured in Sociology in Mumbai and Chennai, and produced video reports for Doordarshan producers from 1994 to 2000, especially for Siddharth Kak's cultural programme, 'Surabhi', and Pritish Nandy's 'India the Awakening', commemorating fifty years of Indian independence.
