AUTHOR OF THE BOOK

Born in Shimla into a middle-class family notable for breeding educationists and civil servants. Educated at St. Stephen’s College, Delhi and Brasenose College, Oxford. Joined the Indian Foreign Service in 1952. During a career spanning 36 years, served as Ambassador to Germany, Italy, Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay and as High Commissioner to Australia. Also had a stint as Dean of the Foreign Service (Training) Institute. Since 1994, working as Adviser to Child Education Society, Delhi, the apex body of nineteen educational institutions with a student enrolment of over 27,000.
