AUTHOR OF THE BOOK

Dr M. Rajaram is an officer in the Indian Administrative Service with a postgraduate
degree in English Literature, an M Ed degree in Education, a BL and a PhD (HRD).
He belongs to the Scholar—Civil Servant tradition. His prior publications include
an English translation of Thirukkural, a collection of 1330 Tamil couplets, for which
he received a well-deserved tribute from Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, former president
of India. His other books, including Changing Faces of School Inspection and Towards
Quality in Educational Administration, are considered seminal works in the field of
education. His research papers have won him recognition at the national level,
winning him several awards including the Malcolm Adiseshiah Award and the Best
Collector Award. It is his love for literature that led him to create this compendium,
Blossoms in English.
